Well, it finally came to the point where I got to visit Japan.
Truly a memorable trip and why not start it off with what I see as the most Japanese part of Japan.
My group were attending the International Budo University in Katsuura, Chiba.
And with out tourist blood fuelled by great sights we set out to see the local sights.
Acording to the travel guide we used there was nothing to see in Katsuura, but they were wrong. Plenty to see and photograph here.
This torii and the beach here was my first experience with the Pacific ocean and needless to say I just had to at least dip my feet in it.
As for the torii I am not sure why it was originally placed here.
It was a beautiful location so I'm not complaining to anything.
But one thing is for sure... I'm going back to this wonderful place!
Technical data
Originally this photo was intended to be more elaborate HDR merge, but light wasn't exactly on my side so I went for a flatter approach and impression.
Converted from RAW.
That is all for now.
I hope you all like it!

Nicely done, and a very refreshing POV.
The results would have been very different if taken in evening or morning... long shadow of the gate, bright red against deep blue sky... ah!
Nevertheless, considering the time of the day you were there, it cant be any better.
Regards,
Bishnu.
