Himeji Castle is probably Japan's most famous and most beautiful castle.
I spent a year living in Northern Japan and always wanted to go to Himeji Castle, but whenever I was in the region I spent all my time in Nara, Kyoto or Hiroshima.
I finally got a chance to visit Himeji when I went back to visit Japan earlier this year with my wife. It is definitely worth the day trip from Kyoto (or Osaka). It is easily one of my favourite places in Japan. |

Hi Paul,
I wish I had a better weather when I went to Himeji. The blue sky and the winter light on the castle are beautiful.
Simple but nice.
