Cow race festival was held in An Giang
Khmer people in the Mekong delta province of An Giang were preparing for their cow race festival, which took place on September 27 .
The Bay Nui festival, which dates back to a custom of cow racing during the rice cultivation season, has been held annually since 1992 in Tri Ton and Tinh Bien districts. It has expanded to include racing teams from other provinces in the Mekong delta.
This year抯 festival, which was held on the occasion of the Dolta traditional festival, was expected to draw the participation of 70 cow teams from An Giang and its neighbouring province of Kien Giang. |

i have never seen cow racing before so thanks for showing something original, which you have framed well. The water makes it more dramatic. A real action packed shot. i would like to see the crowd watching.

this is so beautiful. I love the way the faces of the first pair of cows are popping out of the curtain of the drops, the splashes of the cows feet are captured in the perfect moment and then glass like still surface in the foreground gives a great contrast to the all rush behind.

I did not know that they had cow races in Vietnam. I saw similar things last year in Indonesia as you can check in here. Your photo is excellent and shows action at its best. The depth is fantastic and the water splash created the perfect idea of who is in front. Well done.
