This shot was taken at the Hacienda San Lucas on the outskirts of the town of Copan Ruinas.
Even if you don't plan on staying ther it is worth visiting the Hacienda. There are stunning views of the Copan Valley with vultures swooping in and out of sight. A ten minute walk away is the tiny but sacred Mayan site of Los Sapos and slightly further (a fun horseback ride) is the village of La Pintada in habited by descendants of the Mayan people.
The Hacienda also has an incredible restaurant with gourmet Honduran food and the place decorated with hundreds of candles at night.
It was quite gloomy when I took this photo so I had to use the flash. Luckily that seems to have added to the richness of the blue hammock in the foreground rather than over-exposing it.
