Hi everybody,
summer was officially declared over a few days ago, here in England. The truth for the greater Manchester area is slightly different: since I came back from my holiday in Italy (May this year) I can use the whole 5 fingers of my right or left hand to count the days where the sun has shined a bit. Therefore...back to my trip to Italy, back to Venice, back to the good weather!
I have already posted something from Venice here and here.
I'm not gonna tell you again about the fact that Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and blah blah blah, as you already know that..don't you?? ;o)
I was trying to avoid the too many (for me) tourists and decided to have a walk in the less known part of the city; here I didn't find tourists, neither locals to be honest and it was a strange feeling, almost surreal.
I decided to take this shot because to me it's not the usual kind of picture you would expect for Venice..no Piazza San Marco, no Ponte di Rialto, no pigeons or gondolas..nothing...just a few walls, a closed door in front of me and most of all that wonderful blue sky above me.
I wish you a great weekend and hope you'll enjoy the picture
Cheers,

Igor

P.S: I'd like to say thank you to our friend John for the hint about a film based in Venice and called "Don't look now"...John, I watched the film yesterday and from now on Venice will never be the same ;o)

hi Igor,
the sky is gorgeous, and the way you have composed the photo with the walls forming something like a deep well creates a nice feeling of refreshing shade. love the colours, love the textures - there seems to be so many layers of different paints and mortar, it illustrates nicely the rich history of the place. excellent work, my compliments.

best,
Kristine

Ciao Igor
Freddy

Good morning Igor,
nice perspective and POV of this narrow blind siding with the slice of sky,to be contrasted perfect with the reddish walls.I like the management of the light as the shadows too.The sharpness and the clarity of the scene are unique.

Have a nice weekend,Danos

Ciao Igor.
Ciao!
Bobo.

Hello Igor,
A solitary and nice Venetian alley. The red colors of the stone contrast marvellously with the sky. Excellent light and details.
Best Regard,
Charo

Hi, Igor. You were right to look up and make a picture of this wonderful sky striped by a few fluffy clouds. The perspective is very good with the houses left and right forcing us to look towards the sky. I like the contrast between the sunny left side and the shady one on the right. Nice texture on the walls. The presence of crenels reminds us of the fact that Venice has a rich past. Very good light to make us forget this ending summer which has never really begun.
Have a nice weekend,
Philippe

Cielo favoloso.
Ci sentiamo... buon w.e.
Paolo

Ciao Igor,

come stai?

Nravissimo come sempre!

Gio

Ciao Igor,
come sempre colori e p.p perfetti.
Giorgio

A very strong composition and an impressive image, Igon, the colour is rich and it has a sort of theatrical feel, like the set of an opera. Regards kevin

Ciao Igor.

saluti
maurizio

Hi Igor,

not that I didn't check this ne before, but as I was in a harry with my work so I was just replying some critiques...but this one was in the list :) I really like what you did with the exposure. Man, I could not think of a better way to manage that in this photo. Not even the shadow was a problem. Superb work on that...and of course a pleasant view of this forgotten narrow street. Great job!
Regards,
Carlos

Hello Igor,
Great light control here !
I like resulting colors and contrasts.
Beautiful one,
Have a nice day,
JB.

Hey Igor,
A lovely architectural shot. The blue sky is awesome and is in perfect contrast with the buildings. The vertical format works perfectly for this shot. Congratulations!!! TFS
Greetings,
Natasha
