There is a man-made pool in the central area of Coventry called the Swanswell. It has always been there during my lifetime and is therefore just accepted. I don't know whose concept it originally was and when it was built, but it survives, and is now very much home to many swans and a stopping off point for a number of other travelling birds.
It is one of those places that has everything against it, location, misuse, largely ignored, but despite this the wildlife appear to love it. This picture is my homage to an oasis of life within an indifferent world. |
