At the end of March, Saturday morning, we went with a couple of friends to a small trip in their area, somewhere around the city of Haifa. Our original intention was to shoot a purple flower that grows in the mountain area in that time of the year. In Hebrew the name of the flower is "Turmus". As far as I can tell, in English it's called "Lupin" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lupin).
So by now you're probably wondering why there isn't a big purple Lupin in this picture.... That's because, unfortunately, it was a very windy day, and it was very hard for me to get a decent shot. The flowers kept moving wildly in the strong wind. I was pretty disappointed... And so at the end, this became my favorite picture of that day: A big (huge!) thistle, with pointy edges and pretty yellow flowers, and a small hopper-bug that knows no fear. Neither of which seemed to be bothered much by the strong wind, and I got my pic :) |
