Photographer's Note
Cleaning Vancouver for our visit
It is difficult for me to choose the most fitting picture of our day in Vancouver with Craig.
How to find THE highlight of a day FULL of highlights.
Lars encouraged you with his first post to sail on to Vancouver and meet Craig.
I will show you what he will do for you.
He will clean all the windows of the many glass facades in the city so you can enjoy the beauty of the modern architecture, but he also will (if you dare) shows you the creepiest streets in town.
In the workshop I have posted a picture with Craig and Lars waiting until I was ready with taking pictures of other highlight of this beautiful city.

Hello Rob,
Surely that's not Craig up there personally cleaning the city for you? ;-)
This is the kind of city shot I like. We get a sense of the very vertical architecture and there is something quite exciting going on. Although we can't tell how high up this is, it looks dramatic enough. Lots of graphically nice lines and fine blue and grey tones.
Best wishes,
Gert

Hello Rob,
I knew you would find something with lots of patterns or textures!
I like this, lots of verticals to contrast with the colour-toning horizontals.
I take my hat off to the window cleaner, what a stomach churning job!
So Craig booked him specially for your visit!
(TE members have a reputation for conviviality!)
I'm sure you will have a great holiday.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
Thanks for the w/s. I love to additional photos of the TE members!

Hi Rob,
You have captured well the action of the windows cleaner. The point of view is showing the details of the building. The design of the building has a graphical effect. Have a nice day.

Bonjour Rob,
J'espère que tu n'as pas trop été gêné par le tapis rouge continuellement sous tes pieds. Cela prend un certain courage pour faire ce genre de travail.
Amicalement

Hello Rob,
Craig might not actually clean skyscraper windows, but I think he WOULD climb up to get a good POV for a photo! Ha ha! :-) It sounds like you had a nice meeting, and I like this vertical composition. Nice close-up and focus on the window washer. In big cities there are certainly a lot of windows to clean!

Hallo Rob,
Zou deze dame familie zijn van de glazenpoetser van het Columbia Center? Niet iedereen ziet zo'n glazenwasser hangen, terwijl de vele verticale lijnen van het gebouw nog wel zo'n mooie achtergrond vormen.

Hi Rob
thats funny, i remember you capturing this scene, and i even turned to Lars and said - I knew he'd take that photo!! haha
I also remember thinking it may not turn out that well because its shaded and a bit dark, but hey...this looks pretty darn good to me!
fun shot, fun memory. I've been seeing all your posts on FB, lots of great Van City shots there! :)

Dag Rob,
Goed foto werk mijn vriend, alles oké in Canada.
Prettige dag verder,
John.

Hi Rob,
I like this joint venture in which you and Lars compete to find the best picture with the most apprpriate title for your visit of Vancouver, under Craig's skilled, friendly guidance.
The girl alpinist is working hard to make the city look nice and clean for you.
Excellent shot taken with a zoom I expect.
Amazing details that let you see what the job is about !
Thanks for sharing.
Marie-Louise.

Hi Rob,
Nice capture of this worker cleaning the window at this height, most likely this building is so tall that scaffolding is not viable
I really have to salute them for their courage and passion for doing that, as it is never easy
Interesting notes you have too

Hallo Rob,
Een aantrekkelijk grafisch beeld in een overheersend blauw.
Echt veel zitruimte heeft deze schoonmaakster niet. Deze dame is goed geplaatst in het beeld.
Vele groeten, Paul

nice sample of the personage cleaning the façade with the vertical lines well framed at side. last month I took an image of this kind, with a professional in action too.facing the shard, my friend said me: I imagine how much work will be necessary to clean these windows...
