Taken at my great-grandmother's house in spring. The cat liked to sit with her front feet over the railing. For the repost, I added a frame and tried to "clean" it up a bit; sharpened, adjusted color and lighting, and cloned out some distracting elements, as well as resizing so you can see more of the photo at one time. I think this is more effective. Just a "daily life" photo of a typical Fort Smith home in springtime.
This small town in America's heartland was founded as a western frontier military post in 1817, and, believe it or not, was really located on the frontier of the "wild west" for many years, as Indian Territory lay directly to the west! It's now Arkansas's second largest city at about 84,000 people; the population has increased over the past few years, partly because of the founding of the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith (previously WestArk community college), designated as such officially in 2002. |
