Photographer's Note

This is the reflection of the Berliner Dom in Palast der Republik. The contrast between the beautiful cathedral and the ruinous building caught my eye, when I was walking at the Karl Liebknechtstra遝 to Alexanderplatz.

Palast der Republik (Palace of the Republic) served as the parliament building of the Deutsche Demokratische Republik (DDR). It was built in the 1970ies in the prevailing East-German style with bronze-mirrored windows. In 1976 the Volkskammer (the DDR-parliament) moved in.

The church on the left is the Berliner Dom (Berlin Cathedral). It was completed in 1905. The first church on this site was built in 1465.

Please, check this picture for another view and more information.
I cropped the picture a bit.

Hope you like it!
