Monsanto es una aldea de Portugal de la regi髇 de Beira.

Perteneciente a las "Aldeias hist髍icas de Portugal" fue considerado como el pueblo m醩 portugu閟, su encanto medieval lo hace irrepetible, perderse por su calles laber韓ticas y subir a lo alto a contemplar la vista desde su castillo es una aut閚tica experiencia.

Monsanto est� enclavado en la vertiente de una peque馻 pero escarpada monta馻, caracterizada por grandes moles de granito que muchas veces forman parte de las viviendas. En lo alto del monte asentado en moles gran韙icas se encuentra el imponente castillo de Monsanto ahora ya en estado de ruina, pero que aun conserva bien su muralla, patio de armas y torreones.

Existen varias rutas para visitar Monsanto, todas exigen al visitante estar bien acostumbrado a caminar, ya que la localidad est� situada en la ladera de una monta馻 y al empezar la visita todas las calles son empinadas.
La ruta m醩 interesante es la denominada "Ruta dos penedos juntos" esta ruta parte de la entrada del pueblo y llega hasta la capilla romanica de San Miguel donde se pueden admirar las antiquisimas sepulturas excavadas en la roca gran韙ica.
El atractivo de esta ruta es el paisaje, las vistas que ofrece de la comarca, y poder contemplar las moles de granito caracter韈ticas de Monsanto, teniendo que pasar por debajo de alguna de ellas; una vez llegado al castillo y despu閟 de contemplar las impresionantes vistas, puede descender por la antigua calzada de piedra, recorriendo las calles serpenteantes, par醤dose a contemplar los antiguos chozos de piedra y tejado de tierra.

Monsanto is a village of Portugal of the region of Beira.

Belonging " Aldeias hist髍icas of Portugal " was considered to be the most Portuguese people, his medieval delight makes it unrepeatable, labyrinthine streets get lost for his and to rise to the high thing to contemplate the sight from his castle is an authentic experience.

Monsanto is nailed in the slope of a small but steep mountain, characterized by big masses of granite that often are a part of the housings. On top of the mount placed in granitic masses one finds the imposing castle of Monsanto now already in state of ruin, but that there even preserves well his wall, court of weapon and turrets.
Several routes exist to visit Monsanto, they all demand the visitor to be used well to walking, since the locality is placed in the hillside of a mountain and on having begun the visit all the streets are steep.
The most interesting route is the so called " Route two penedos together " this route departs from the entry of the people and comes up to the Romanesque chapel of San Miguel where there can be admired the most ancient graves excavated in the granitic rock.
The attraction of this route is the scenery, the sights that it offers of the region, and to be able to contemplate the masses of granite caracter韈ticas of Monsanto, having to happen below some of them; once come to the castle and after contemplating the impressive sights, it can descend for the ancient roadway of stone, covering the streets serpenteantes, stopping to contemplate the ancient chozos of stone and roof of ground.

This is one of wonderful view full with stone facades in splendid details, sharpness and their natural colors. Cloudy sky adds third dimension to your already in perfectly balanced photo. Cobblestoned alley, mossy textures on rock and their amazing construction style continuing build part of houses on rocks are incredible. Congratulations.

not an easy one Charo.
The composition is very good, but I think when I lok to the technical side the depth in the shot can be better when you go slower with the speed of your camera and go higher with the F. I am sure of that. I would say try it out. Good photojob anyway, I like it, have a good weekend.

The architecture here is outstanding and you have captured it nicely. Your composition and POV are great using the cobblestone street to lead the eye into the shot. The off center placement of the tower works well giving the shot a nice sense of direction. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

� sem d鷙ida uma das mais bonitas aldeias de Portugal. E a tua foto mostra isso muito bem. O polarisador fez o trabalho muito bem mas penso que podias ter dado mais brilho � imagem e ao c閡 em particular.
Quanto � nota, est� muito boa mas repetiste duas vezes o texto em espanhol.

Un POB ben elegido para presentar este bonito pueblo del Northe del Portugal. El pequeno rye con sus grandes adoquines nos invita a vanacer en el pueblo. Una imagem muy neta con piedras que resultan bien muy bajo el cielo azul.

Another great shot from your collection of the traditional "street scenes". Your PP work puts a lot of ambiance to it, the contrast between the sky and the ground is very likable, it seems like the sky was added to it. Surreal almost.

Charo, this is great, it has been shown here before I think but your shot is better by far, every part of your shot is fine. I like best the uneven texture of the roadway, this is a fantastic shot.

Hello Charo,
a really exotic place with the massive and rustical old stone houses. Despite of the fact that the shown part consists only of hard stones almost without any green grass, flower or tree, it has somehow a friendly atmosphere. (The white balance is set to too warm value to my taste but it may help feel the scene friendly.)

Really exceptional place is this Monsanto. Stone paved streets, featured with old catholic crosses, monuments, hundled up in tiny corners. Magical place. The shot has succeeded in representing it beautifully.
