I really like WS #1 and 3. ya, its always hard, I often end up choosing the wrong one haha. the lighting was not your friend here, and I assume trying to decrease the highlights wouldn't really help, its just too bright. but lets bypass that. its still a remarkable view, and trying to imagine what it looked like in its prime. We also get a sense of its power, its dominance, its height. what a feat of engineering. cheers

I wonder how many really do look at the WS's, I know I do.
reading your note on the WS puts this into perspective. The main photo is kind of funny, but then after reading the WS note I felt sympathy for her and my mood totally changed. Good shot and little story here. I wish TE kept track of statistics...for example, how many points we have received in total from each TE member, tracking who we give points to, and so on...that would be so interesting. Oh well
cheers

great to see the interior, I always want TE members to post the inside as well. I get the feeling when you're sitting in there it would be hard NOT to look up from time to time. it really is quite striking, especially if its bright and sunny outside.
glad you posted this, good one
cheers

good to see the sail being transparent with the strong lighting striking it, that's my favorite part. the blues and whites always work well here, even with this bright sunlight. cheers

yes, this one is hard to compose because there are empty spaces in the artwork, so its hard to get it to look easy on the eyes.
it almost looks like the head is floating there. The WS help out too. another interesting subject, gotta love it

gotta love these views from above. Makes me think about the views I have in Gdansk that I should post. love the darkened lighting too, no over exposed areas. Nice looking architecture to be found when you examine the scene. Good one

no apologies for not posting new photos - my goodness, I have hardly taken any photos in 2 years since my son was born. Travel photos I mean, and even Vancouver shots...its mostly family photos now. I have to admit, I miss it dearly and I want to get back out there. this is a wonderful post, I wish this mural was around when I was in Manhattan. Too bad about that black SUV being in the way, the food truck is ok because its kinda goes with the splash of colors. The life of Michael...that's a conversation for another day!!!
love this one
cheers

this is very good. I know there are lots of cars in the lower fg, but its the bg and the subjects in the depths of the scene that make it so interesting. love seeing these true to life inner city street scenes, lots of activity. excellent light striking the Mosque too. cheers

more towers, I can never get enough towers, keep them coming.
once again, i'm impressed at how long these have been standing, hundreds of years, just incredible. love the strong blue bg and the puffy clouds. lots to like in this warm light

too bad that wasn't the REAL name of the boat right? haha
so I guess this is a family business. always good to view your harbour shots. good to see a little color on the side of the boat, brings a bit of life to it. and same with the man working on the nets. cheers

well perhaps you are showing us here the most photogenic building in the town, sounds like it. Interesting how the front is pretty good, but the sides need alot of work and attention. interesting to see the condition of the street itself too. I'd be very curious to see the interior. anyways, its a nice shot of the only good building in town :) cheers

fun shot, great to get a peek of the interior. this one stands out visually quite well on your gallery page

I felt the need to click on this one because I just viewed Gy's photo of the man reading a book and you commented on it as well. Thats a very large book he has. Too bad we can't find out what it's about. and ya, that would be a huge cell phone hahaha. What would you do if you took the photo, then he looked up at you with a not-so-happy appearance? just curious.
excellent side lighting on the man's face, good that he's not in the shade. I like it
cheers

haha...yes, I knew Gert would enjoy this one.
nice to see a color shot from you for a change.
its almost as if there is a spotlight on the main in the middle, it has very nice lighting/shadow combinations. the blue paint really works well to grab our attention too, an unexpected result of that paint. cheers

anyways, its got grit and beauty! cheers
