Hi Jorge,
You are right, however if we see that something what was done long time ago is very wrong from present day perspective, then having some decency we should correct it. I think we could afford some generosity for the benefit of better international relations.
I am not talking about damaging historical statues but about something opposite: repairing those which were damaged...
