Hello Marie-Louise,
You have presented to us a beautiful corner of Scottish woods. The composition, with a neat starling-house in the foreground and a wonderful pattern of bare but very colorful branches in the background, is highly attractive and aesthetic. Many thanks for interesting information, both visual and textual!
Best regards to Apollinaire, and happy birthday to him!

Default To s_lush: Starling ?

Good morning Serge and thank you for your visit.
You mention the starling. Is there anything in the house which means it is meant for starlings ?
TFS and have a good weekend.

Hello Marie-Louise,
In the former Soviet Union we call nestling boxes as starling-houses, although they are for any birds, not only for starlings.
Best regards,
