Great Didi 2013-07-25 10:47

Hi Dearest friend
Very glad to read you again in TE
An interesting triangle formed by the tree and the old barn. Nice hot summer view
Perhaps you should use a wider view to show more of the foreground if there was no disturbing element
Well done
Warm regards

Smile To tyro: The engineering and art converge!

Yes, John, I was enthralled by the same element -- the artistic balance of the sculpture and the engineering that must have been required to make it hold together!

There is a great property of bronze, in that it acquires a great patina, but if it is touched frequently, those parts stay shiny. Look, for example, at the feet in this picture, which are at eye-level and very naturally attract a touch from most visitors. So to respond as discretely as possible concerning the mermaids' toplessness, I'll share that the mermaid in this piece is high enough to be almost entirely out of reach, but there are two little parts of this piece that stay very shiny.

Best regards!
