Hi Andrew,
What a splendid ancient staircase and what an interesting photographic interpretation of it: your picture has just so many varied geometric shapes from straight lines, triangles, bits of circles and ellipses, all interestingly arranged.
But it is also the variations of the light and subtle soft colours which make this so appealing. Just a pity that bright lamp dominates the area at the top but the bright light at top right draws the viewer up the staircase very effectively.
Yes, there is some "grain" or "noise" in this picture but, as you say, that does actually contribute to the atmosphere in this shot. In fact, I rather suspect that the darker areas of the picture were quite markedly underexposed as a camera like your Nikon D7000 would normally deal with an ISO of 1600 with little or any noise visible.
A wonderful photograph, well seen and very well taken in very difficult lighting conditions indeed.
Brilliant!
Kind Regards,
John.

Given to me by a photographer some months ago, he said: would be great to be in Buenos Aires during the World Cup, empty streets...
Just remember this on the previous match and stayed away till the second time, taken photos and making videos And on this day, raining, cloudy sky, colorful reflections given by traffic lights...I stayed during all the match out home, was great ![]() Will do the same next time Please SHSHSHSHSHSH about the subject ![]() Last edited by nikkitta; 07-08-2014 at 01:30 AM. |
