Hi, Russ,
I can soooo sympathize. A. I HATE huge crowds, B. I am only 5 feet tall and just about ANYONE can block my view, and C. I have had people with PHONE cameras do that to me at weddings I was photographing. Grrrr. Great crowd shot, though, even under difficult lighting conditions. That is just TOOO many people, though. To AROBN54: May I suggest adding a piece of equipment?
I sympathize with not being tall and being blocked by some inconsiderate moron. I am statistically average (~5'9") for my demographic, but young people (ooh, I sound like an old man!) are bigger these days. If I'm totally honest, I'll confess that one of the reasons I love to travel in Mexico is that I am a tall person there, although the new generation of Mexicans is considerably taller than their parents!
But someone with a phone-camera stepping into your WORKING set at a wedding??!!?!? Ay! May I suggest adding a helpful piece of equipment to your kit? ;-) All my best, Russ Austin, Texas
