Hello Marie-Louise, I want to thank you for including my photo in the anniversary theme and also for educating me on who Adam is, the person who started this site. It was enlightening to learn about the history of this site and to see his gallery and to learn what kind of camera he used. 2009 seemed to be a changing year for this site for some reason.

Hi Karen,
I have only just read your reply.
Indeed, 2009 was a turning point for the site, as Adam sold it to "Internet Brands". He carried on working on it until 2010, and then definitely left it, probably, because it was too hard to work on his creation, and not have the power to decide any longer.
For having known both versions, I must say that the spirit which Adam created goes on.
I, like many others continue using the old site, the beta version, whenever possible.
A lot of members moaned a lot about the new site and the new company, some left.
I can say that things weren't ideal either, when Adam was doing most of the work on his own.
Anyway I repeat that the spirit he initiated goes on, about "learning photography and the world through international friendship", but with a certain ethique and discipline.
I enjoy it very much. I hope you do.

PS: I have just been doing a sort of inventary of the members over 20000 pts, and in a short while, I have found about 60. Not that it's the competition for points that counts. It just shows that these people have been very active for quite a while.
So, despite the pessimism of some, I think the site is doing quite well, and especially keeping its main objective drawn by Adam in 2002.
