Hello Gert,
So you did not get off the train in Varanasi. You were probably there on a previous India trip.
Your main photo nicely shows the busy city life in a fairly wide street with a view of a mosque at the back.
I even notice tram tracks on the road surface. I believe that this city has (had) the only tram network in all of India.
Calcutta would also be the Indian city that used these hand-pulled rickshaws the longest. But I never saw them because I was never in Calcutta.
Funny but I saw such rickshaws in Japan. However, only in quiet places in the city and only intended for transporting tourists.
I wonder what your main photo would look like in colour?
Best regards, Paul

Thank you Paul,
Yes, I had spent almost a week in Varanasi several years earlier and this train passed nearby in the middle of the night. No need or wish to get off. I originally uploaded the colour version this morning but immediately saw that it didn't look good. It had seemed better on my desktop, but now I decided immediately to convert it. I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn't told I had used my daily quota. Best regards, Gert |

Hi Gert,
I remember after deleting a picture where I saw too late that it wasn't good enough, I had to wait one day to upload a new one. So you've been lucky. Best regards, Paul |

Hi Paul / Gert
I think you are allowed a window of about 5 minutes time, perhaps even 10 minutes before you cannot resubmit an image on the same day. So move like lightning to convert to b&w, sharpen or whatever, rename it so you don't waste any time with "you already have a file by that name", delete the old one, upload the new improved version, then do the note. I've done this several times. Sometimes I make the time limit other times not. |
