Photographer's Note
In this picture, you can see so close the ancient, Muslim, Christian and modern places of Worship - Obelisk and pylon of the Luxor Temple dedicated to the Theban Triad consisted of Amun, his consort Mut, and their son Khonsu (14 Century B.C.), the minarets of the Abu Hagagg Mosque, the minaret of the modern mosque and behind, two towers of the Coptic church.
The active Abu Haggag Mosque is located within the temple, standing on the ancient columns themselves. That part of the Luxor Temple was converted to a church by the Romans in 395 AD, and then to a mosque in 640, which is more than 3,400 years of continuous religious worship. Hence, the Luxor Temple is the oldest building in the world at least partially active for other than archaeological or tourist purposes.
The Luxor Temple is a large Ancient Egyptian temple complex located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city today known as Luxor (ancient Thebes) and was constructed approximately 1400 BCE. In the Egyptian language it was known as ipet resyt, "the southern sanctuary". It was one of the two primary temples on the east bank, the other being Karnak.

Hello Malgo,
These views are all fairly familiar to me, although I don't remember the details. Nice photos all of them, with fine light and colours. I had to retrieve my diary from Luxor to recall what I saw during the hectic 2-3 days I spent there. I was obviously very busy. I will reply to your mail later.
Kind regards,
Gert

A wonderful view of the mighty edifice, towers and ruins, Malgo, its color indicate it was built from desert local stones.
Good afternoon,

Hello Malgo,
I really like to see all those different styles in one photo, all with a nice warm glow in the soft lighting. Especially the towers and domes in the middle look great.

Hi Malgo
A superb shot encompassing three different religions. I was lucky enough to visit this Luxor City Temple. The obelisk at right has its twin now residing in Paris. Odd to see an active mosque inside the temple when just about all other churches and mosques inside ancient Egyptian temples have been removed. Tfs!

Hello Malgo,
Nice photo showing worship places of different ages all in one frame. Wait, there is an obelisk just like the one at the left edge in Istanbul.

Hello Malgo,
I've never been to Luxor and the pictures you show us here are most appealing to me for the monuments of antiquity and the domes and minarets of more recent history that they show.
I like your chosen points of view and the obtained compositions.
Beautiful strong colour contrast between the stone and earth colour of monuments and soil and the blue sky.
Your main picture shows many tall and bigger columns nicely in a row while the top of the photo does the same with the obelisk, the minarets and domes.
Too bad the Egyptians succeed excellently in ruining an almost perfect view by building a most ugly fence and parking a police car on a spot to terrify photographers (WS1) and building a strange construction in the centre of all amazing sights (main photo). Is that another fence or a construction to protect the monuments? I don't know. Too bad. This could have been the top view of the entire Middle East.
Anyway, Luxor is a very interesting place.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Malgo,
This is an amazing view, ruined temple in the f/g and more modern places of worship beyond! All pointing skywards; history condensed!
Are the police cars abundant for the safety of visitors or to generally keep control of situations?
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
