Dirty Little Rebel, a photo from New South Wales, East

Photographer's Note

This is a photo I took at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney's Inner West earlier this year, when Dirty Little Rebels were rocking the socks of us locals. My subject is Tony Hunter, the lead singer of the band. DLR are a group of three high school students from Port Macquarie. They are: Tony (Bones) Hunter - vox & guitar, Jakey Hall - drums and Jack Gibson - vox & bass. Last year they won national radio station Triple J's Unearthed Artist and have just cut an EP.

Have a listen to their first single Bones. I hear a strong influence of the Hives and maybe even some Dead Kennedys. What do you think? Bones by Dirty Little Rebels

Good concertpics are hard to shoot but i Think you managed very well. The Contrasts/lights gives it the raw feeling that i like. I Think You took it in the right moment too cos i like the attendance in his Eyes.

this one is very strong potrait of the artist,well managed light and nice control of exposure.the b&w tone did work here very appealing.

Hi Lisa,
A very nice classical rock picture, I can see this in the archives of great rock and roll shots in the future. Perhaps even Tony here will bac when he is in his sixties with his 20 gold records and see what he used to be like when only a nipper. Black and white is a percfect choice for this shot, seems to suit musical images so well.

Hi Lisa,
Writing while listening. Those rebels have a good rythm, and remind me some other American bands did play in the 70th like this.
Nice shot during performance, hope it did not disturb him when taken.

great B&W study of this little rocker! Has that edge to it that smacks of the 70's punk era, which incidentally the music reminds me of. This image sums up the song and if we ever see the sun again in England will make me wary of shadows approaching in 3's. Raw and powerful imagery! Like it!

Ciao Lisa,

It is very difficult to take pictures during a show. Very hard to control the light and the movement.This one is very well done. As the music goes, may be it is to young and loud for my taste.

Atmospheric, very energetic and dynamic,exactly like the music they play.I enjoy also the background-blurry and with stage light creating so nice atmosphere.Together with his face expression makes the image really powerful and expressive.

un ritratto molto buono del giovane musicista immerso nella musica e nella sua canzone. Mi piace molto la sua concentrazione ed intensita', il tuo approccio diretto per quello che riguarda la composizione va benissimo con l' immediatezza di questo tipo di concerti.
