Photographer's Note

Berlin - Potsdamer Platz.
I remember Potsdamer Platz when it was just a gigantic building site - twenty years ago I lived in Berlin for a few months and this place was a huge pit with a jungle of cranes. You would hear so many different languages that you'd think yourself in the tower of Babel.
Years later I went back on one of my usual business trips and I saw what had become of that building site - I thought the result was kind of impersonal, all incredibly angular and very, very tall...
Three weeks ago I was again in Berlin for business and my hotel was located very near Potsdamer Platz, so I could not avoid the usual walk in this neighbourhood. I guess I still hope to find something new and exciting that justifies that enormous building project...

Hello cristina,

I like the minimalism here creating this wonderful geographical form with this short part of the building. Love the title too. Nice option for B&W and great crop too.

Hello Cristina,
I think photos like this could to some extent justify that enormous building project. With this B&W treatment and strong contrasts you manage to make this look more like a matter of geometry than an identifiable building. You balanced and cropped it very well and captured some very elegant reflections.
