Photographer's Note
Postcard for Silvio1953 from Birregurra.
Birregurra is a town in Victoria, Australia approximately 130 km south-west of Melbourne. Population 688. Every year this population increases to 10.000 due to its festival.
This was taken at the Birregurra festival 2009.
I Think in many ways it typifies the Australian country male, strong, hard working, hard living likes good lookin' sheilas, loves his aussie rules, a cold beer or two & a barbie with his mates & not too concerned with fashion & a little hairy ;-))))).

Hey Santo,
One thing for sure, you Victorians are a handsome bunch.
The guy in the bucket hat looks like he'd crawl over four miles of broken glass to get his hands on a cold VB, come to think of it so would I.
Nice shot, two characters that definitely deserve to be immortalized on camera.
Good work, the expressions are priceless.
Cheers
Peter

Hi Santo
LOL nice duo, and an image taken with good appropriate Dof, porrtaits of each one would look good too. The right one could be appropriate for Appenzell where many senior men wear such beards
Have a nice day JY

Ciao Santo,

I think it's a photo which one cannot help but like it!
In some way which I cannot explain it's a "simpatica "image and very well done too. More and more I see that you are very attentive to people in your photos, and even if it's not my genre it's something I can appreciate.

hi rikk
I love this "everyday life" scene... showing the true face of those people... what I like the most about your picture is their expressions... it is very impressive.

ciao santo,
it's interesting that you post such a photo... my hairdresser is Tasmanian and a couple of days ago we were talking about Australia and Tasmania as originally a favourite penal colony for British convicts... I guess the grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-etc.-children of those men are still around :)
who else could have invented Aussie rules... :)

Hello Santo,
Another fine capture and a note expressing a gentle, good-humoured appreciation. Maybe these fellas don't exactly fit the dreams of a mother in law to be, but they've got character - of a kind.

Hey Santo,
Great Portrait. In India, we are quite familiar with the Men Down Under.Courtesy - Cricket, the universal religion in India. In this excellent portrait the shorter man reminds me of David Boon, a gritty australian batsman who was known off the field for his love for beer and on the field was a wonder - "How he ran being a roundish beer fan?"
Good Job & Cheers,
Satyakki

Hello Santo,
These two gentlemen looks rough and huge, their beard and mo are almost unrivaled. Come to think of it, the rabbi's beard would be nice for you too but it will take several years to get to this length. I love their facial expressions, just wondering what they were gazing at. The light, colours and details are excellent.
Regards
Alfred
