Photographer's Note

Here is the view of Fort Lovrijenac taken at blue hour.
Fort Lovrijenac is a fortress and theater located outside the western wall of the city of Dubrovnik in Croatia, 37 m above sea level.Famous for its plays and importance in resisting Venetian rule, it overshadows the two entrances to the city, from the sea and by land. Early in the 11th century the Venetians attempted to build a fort on the same spot where Fort Lovrijenac currently stands. If they had succeeded, they would have kept Dubrovnik under their power, but the people of the city beat them to it. The "Chronicles of Ragusa" reveal how the fort was built within just three months time and from then on constantly reconstructed. When the Venetian ships arrived, full of materials for the construction of the fort, they were told to return to Venice.(from wikipedia.org)

Witaj Krzysiu,
ale udalo Ci sie ustrzelic piekna kompozycje w piekny i uroczym miejscu. To jest marzenie byc teraz tam i podziwiac uroki tego nadmorkiego miejsca, ktore uwieczniles na tej pieknej fotografii. Przepiekny efet swiatla, prawa partia zdjecia ciekawie oswietlona na tomiast pomrk w wieczornej atmosferze. Pieknie wykonane zdjecie i piekna jego prezentacja. Moje serdeczne gratulacje. Beautiful use of light, and the effect is especially pronounced on the water. Good POV as well. I love the clarity and contrast of the dark rocks against the deep blue sky.

A great moment and a beautiful capture,the lights on the wall are perfect to contrast the blue whit this warm colors,i like the orange reflection too and the silk effect on the water create by the long time of exposure,have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

This is a wonderful job, maybe one of your best shots, you set your camera perfectly creating this beautiful slow-motion effect on the sea, the colors and light are wonderful and the seascape with the castle would not be outdone, also perfect framing with the horizon line of the sea that pan of the rule of three thirds, wonderful shot...a superb work in PP with HDR

A fine blue hour photo of the old fortress. The illuminated walls really stands out well in contrast to the blue coloured sea and sky. Interesting to see how they once constructed this fortress, adapted to the terrain in such a good way. Very nice work:) TFS.

A perfect blue hour shot . The sea is very tranquil and I see no water motion. The illuminated walls look so beautiful with golden colors. The color contrast is very well seen. Beautiful castle on the cliff overseeing the water. Sharpness, colors and light are very well balanced.

What a remarkable composition you've presented here today. I'm starting to cozy up to HDR work when it isn't done beyond the realms of the original piece. This is a good example of the term "Blue-hour", Krzysztof, as it was managed the light precisely with the prevailing conditions.
Fine divided shot over the great wall of a beautiful town, illuminated on part, and darkened on rocks "falling" to sea on other side.

certainly at first glance, this one would not be seen as an HDR - and thats the success of a fine HDR shot!
I take it that the bright spot on the right is a light thats striking the hillside?
I also like the various hues/tones of blue in the photo.

Fantastic warm vs cold color contrasts between the red and blue & good composition with the horizon line placed well below the centre. A superb blue hour shot of this attractive cove with good sharpness & nice motion blur of the water in the long time exposure. Tfs!

The warm-cold colour & light combination is what makes this picture so very attractive. You used the slow shutter speed effectively which creates the silky texture on the water. The reflection of the artificial light on the fort building on the water contrasts well with the blue hour water. Fine work!

Your composition is really nicely chosen here, and works perfectly for your subject. It has the sense of importance being high on the hill, but that does not in any way overpower the beauty of the placid and beautifully lit beach. The listing is incredible, both of the blue hour itself and of they lights on the castle.

Good morning Krzysztof,

Sometimes it's all about timing, and I think it's safe to say you were spot on with this one! Gorgeous! Even without any cloud contrast in the sky, the negative space still works because of the hue produced. The slight graduation of color is simply beautiful, and makes the edges of the rocks, fortress walls and horizon very prominent. The transition of color as it fades from blue to orange, with that little bit of greenery mixed in, is extremely soothing and sets a exquisite tone for the moment captured. My favorite thing about this shot is the small portion of highlighted rocks along the bottom left of the frame. The opposing directional light is that extra touch and added affect that bolsters the entire image for me. Minimal subject matter used to it's fullest potential. Bravo! Thanks for sharing the days last light.

An intriguing long exposure shot at blue hour with the headland and the historic structure providing strong focal of interest rendering the picture a calm soothing
