Photographer's Note

Taken at a small old bakery that still survives and well hidden in Kuqa old quarter; the Uyghur baker proudly displaying the art of making flat bread in a traditional way - the skills acquired from many generations. Bread is a staple food, the lifeblood of the Uyghur diet served at every meal and at every occasion.

It plays a central role in the culture. Focused on the essentials under low light condition while trying to isolate as much distractions as possible.

Setting: 34 mm, 1/13 sec, F2.8, ISO Raw 100, 0705 hrs

Hello ,

very fine and interesting shot showing this baker doing his daily job. I likle the movement with its arms which aren't sharp but they are adding much life to your shot. Very well done.TFS.

Hello Abmdsudi, the baker is so busy at work that he is taking no notice of you,just getting on with kneading the dough.
The blur of his arms adds to the success of the picture.
The light is well managed considering the gloomy surroundings.

Hello Abmdsudi,
An excellent photo of this bakery and the man busy at work kneading the bread. The walls behind him have got a nice warm tone and are well lit by the soft and filtered light. The motion blur of the man and especially his arms is very well caught and shows his hard work well.
