Photographer's Note

Galway Lake is created by Galway Lake Dam on North Chuctanunda Creek in Saratoga County, New York and is used for recreation purposes. Construction of Galway Lake Dam was completed in 1982. At normal levels it has a surface area of 564 acres. It is property of Galway Lake Campers Association.

Very beautiful autumn colours between the blue sky and the blue lake.
I'm a little surprised that the reflections of the trees in the water are so far from the lakeside and almost reach this side of the water.

Hi Tom.
This is a lovely Autumn shot, with the patches of russet foliage amongst the green, and the gentle light reminding one of the season. The surface of the water looks absolutely stunning, and I like to see those well focused and sharply rendered grasses in the foreground. Beautiful shot.

An attractive composition featuring this peaceful lake scene. The background trees look splendid in their autumn attire; whilst the foreground reeds help create a fine sense of depth. Light, colours and sharpness are all very good here.

nice the view of the Galway lake with the calmness and the tranquillity to be spread on this area.The houses that are build on the banks and the changed colours of the leafs make the image more interesting,especially for the lucky owners of the houses.

Hello Tom,

I shall have, probably, erased some branches which draw attention above to the left, but which nice panorama. These houses use a pleasant quality of life. I like nice light very much and especially this nice autumnal colours which contrast nicely with the blue of the sky and the lake. The foreground gives a significant depth. Thank you Tom.

Sorry for my delay, Tom.
A lovely fall scenery featuring calm water that is probably resignated to suffer a bitterly cold for a while so people can enjoy its hard surface, skating to the Skaters Waltz melody!
I could be late again for the next week, my wife and I play the baby sitter game!

Hello Tom,

I thought you had been visiting Ireland when I saw the title!
This is a beautiful, autumnal scene, with the sharp grasses grabbing the f/g, the mirror-smooth lake, with its soft reflections, in the centre, and the reds and browns, scattered amongst the evergreen trees, in the distance.
The large stone is an attractive feature, well positioned in the frame.
