Photographer's Note

Church of St. Michael the Archangel, of the fifteenth century, behind a simple facade hides an interior decorated with many frescoes in the apse, "The Coronation of Mary", the "St. Peter and Paul "and" The Apparition of St. Michael Gargano, "of Spain (1518), while the walls are painted by artists both from Spain that close to him.

The church is dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel. Roof truss. The left wall is divided into four niches with remarkable frescoes. The first in Spain or the disciple John Brunotti painted: Madonna and Child with Angels, St. Francis and St. Anthony of Padua, St. Jerome (1524). In the Second, the Pieta, the Calvary, the instruments of the Passion, St. Peter, the Handmaiden, Pilate, Judas, the cock etc..; Five saints: Augustine, Leonardo, Saint Anthony, San Sebastian and Bernard, a St. detached Sebastiano Lo Spain. These paintings are of local masters (1492). In the third niche is evident: the Lord in the clouds and light, with adoring angels, the Virgin in the drum, and many saints, monks and hermits, author unknown. In the fourth niche: the Virgin and Child with two angels and cherubs, San Sebastian and John the Baptist, the work of The Brunotti Spain and the disciple. The apse of The Spanish and made a little 'in a hurry for the many committees that then had Joan pentore MDXV hispano, represents the apparition of the Archangel Michael on Mount Gargano: the crowning of the Virgin and apostles, prophets, angels, saints and sibyls. Above the Eternal and the Annunciation in three rounds, Holy Spirit, St. Augustine and St. Matthew. Truly this church is a treasure.

Notwaithstanding a difficult place to make a picture, this very successful

Hello Silvio,
This church is very different from yesterday's. The chairs look like they were borrowed from a private home, but the paintings are magnificent. I also like the wooden beams of the ceiling. You handled the light very well and were able to show us the colours of frescoes looking perfectly fresh and natural.

gli affreschi sono tanti e belli, essendo una chiesa piuttosto piccola, le pitture si trovano molto vicine a chi le osserva e deve essere veramente emozionante.
Ottima foto, non vedo finestre, per cui immagino che la luce sia data solo dai fari, eccellente esposizione.

Ciao Caro Silvio,

How unusual to see chairs that are not all neatly arranged for the benefit of the congregation but, I though they took my immediate interest, I quickly moved on to the wall frescos which are absolutely stunning!
We can clearly see the Madonna and child, drifting on a cloud, with other details of saints, nearer the altar, completely covering the walls.
The walls look amazing now, I can only imagine how they must have affected congregations long ago!

Silvio, this church can t receive many believers. Chairs were added behind the benches. The walls and the nave are a feast for the eyes. The religious frescos depict saints, the Virgin and angels. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.
