Photographer's Note
It is said that when Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of the American President (1932-1945), first laid eyes on Iguazu Falls, she declared, "Poor Niagara!" Indeed, poor Niagara Falls and all other falls around the world. On Feb 4th and 5th I made a pair of visits to the spectacular falls, walking along the Brazilian rim of the falls, then taking a helicopter ride over the churning waters. There has been an unusual amount of rain in the area around the tributaries feeding the Iguazu River, evident in the muddy brown water seen in the photo and the unusually abundant flow. In terms of water volume, Victoria Falls on the Zambesi River has greater volume flow. Also, in terms of sheer height, there are higher waterfalls, including Bridle Veil Falls in Yosemite Valley in California, and by far the highest, Angel Falls in Venezuela, but none is as beautiful as the Iguazu. rnrnSitting next to a small open window on the right side of the pilot, I felt a strong draft. At one point the lens cap on my camera was sucked out through the window and fell down to the jungle below. It was tethered to the rest of the camera, and I had to fight to keep the entire camera from being pulled out.rnrnAn extraordinarily beautiful photograph of Iguassu Falls on a clear day was posted by bwj as "Devil’s Throat" a few years ago. And I posted a photo of Niagara Falls as "Footbridge between two cliffs" the same year. Finally, I would like to share an astonishing video of Victoria Falls. I am happy that the possibility of frolicking on the edge of Iguazu was not available. rnrnBest wishes to my friends for a rejuvenating Sunday.

Hello, Bulent,
What can I say? Perhaps Eleanor was right, but I was impressed with the Niagara Falls, although I do remember from the school times about the Victoria Falls as #1 in the world.
This is great shot, so we have not often see this falls on the TE. Probably something happened here a long time ago. The scientists say this is "young" river, and it will be smooth one in future. Best wishes from Ural! Serghei

Hi Bulent,
A wonderful aerial view of these falls, they are beautiful, and the water flow looks very strong indeed. Is that a small boat way down below? Seeing it from above in this way we get a real sense of the immensity and the width that the falls span. I am glad that you managed to keep a hold on your camera, winning the fight with the strong wind.
Regards
Wanda

Hello Bülent,
This is one of the most beautiful pictures of Iguaçu Falls I've ever seen and it gives an almost complete overview.
One of the great characteristics of these waterfalls - compared to the Niagara Falls - is that you see only nature all around and no buildings. Here you see a part of a red roof and the road but they're not disturbing. It remains a real nature picture.
The surrounding forest and the overgrown big rock in the middle make it extra beautiful.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Bulent,
A splendid aerial view over these stupendous falls in full spate. One can see the power but have to rely on our imagination to hear the sounds that go with it. The last time I saw Niagara Falls it was more or less this time of year and they were partially frozen, a fantastic sight. I trust you are riding out the current snowstorm with no ill effects.

Never saw a picture taken from the air over the Iguazu, Bulent.
A marvelous view from aloft, the power of water carry lots of soil-erosion, the mist and the thick green forest around - all culminate wonderfully on the magnificent scene.
Have a nice Sunday,
Ike

Hello Bulent,an excellent aerial view of the falls. I was totally unaware of this fantastic natural feature.
Your timing was impeccable, as you managed to get the full width of the falls.
Thank goodness you had a good hold of your camera.

Hello Bulent,
It sounds like quite a hair-raising flight but worth the trauma to capture shots like this!
I don't think I have ever seen these falls before and it is rare to see any falls from such a high viewpoint!
Certainly they are magnificent as they cascade over the fault, causing mist to descend in clouds, into the air!
The surrounded rocky island, with its tree covering. adds to the spectacle and the sense of scale.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Bulent,
This is an impressive view from your helicopter tour. I can see the power of the falls, and all the lush vegetation surrounding them. Thank goodness your camera, and you yourself, didn't also get pulled out the window! This wide and high POV is great. I hope you are managing to dig out after the massive snowstorm. Our total here in NYC was 26 inches.

Hi Bulent,
Beautiful picture if this impressive waterfall.
Poor Niagara is also a right issue for the surrounding of the waterfalls.
Here just nature. Just concrete all around at Niagara. I assume that you were not standing on a skyscraper when you took this photo.

Selamlar Bülent Bey,
Yes, these falls dwarf the Niagara Falls. It must be quite an experience to be at the foot of these falls. One thing in Nigara's favor, though: The water is pretty clear since it comes from a lake.

MT

Hello, Bulent!
This view from the helicopter is fantastic! Would you believe that I haven't been there yet? In 2014 I was in Ciudad del Este, the neighbor city in Paraguay, but as I didn't have much time to visit both sides of the falls, I decided to go back there another time. And I'm still waiting for the other opportunity... Wonderful composition, with beautiful colors and excellent sharpness!
