A dirty trumpet, a photo from Isernia, Molise

Photographer's Note

The reflections in the trumpets are a classic for those who love this kind of pictures, so I wanted to try this technique .... unfortunately I stumbled upon a horn a little bit dirty, which was resting on the steps of the Cathedral of Isernia waiting for a band concert.

UNA SPORCA...TROMBETTA

I riflessi nelle trombe sono un classico per chi ama questo genere di immagini, cos� anche io ho voluto provare questa tecnica....sfortunatamente sono incappato in una tromba un pochino sporca, che era appoggiata sul sagrato della cattedrale di Isernia in attesa di un concerto bandistico.

Interesting effect on this photo , is like a picture inside a picture and that picture is distorted to the point of deepening the interest . When I saw the thumbnail I wondered if the dark foreground was a trumpet fungus , but then wondered why one would grow here :) interesting technique

anche se un po' sporca, la trombetta ti ha offerto una bella opportunita' e ne hai sfruttato ottimamente. Hai moderato la luminosita' del riflesso del cielo sul metallo effettivamente ed il riflesso dello scenario circondante e' comprensibile e interessante. Lo scenario e la tua figura in azione sembrano dipinti e c' e' anche buona prospettiva. Quello che trovo affascinante e' l' effetto di fluidita'. Complimenti e grazie!

I think I see the reflection of a dirty old man taking a picture of the dirty trumpet ;-). The other reflections are nicer and generally it's an amusing photo and a god idea for a composition. Regards,

A witty and clever idea for a photograph. I think the instrument is sitting on the ground on its bell. The reflections are marvellous and the distortions are well ballanced by the "straight" stones of the pavement. Nice one.

Il palazzo forma proprio un bel riflesso, sia per le sue linee tremolanti, sia per il suo colore, ma questi aloni..... ;-)

Ciao Luciano, When this trumpet was not used in the moment and was dirty, you should clean it and then make a picture, haha. Ands what it could be this black shape in the middle?? Original shot.

A cleverly taken photograph of a panoramic reflection of this city scene in the "bell" of a horn as it sits on the marble steps of the cathedral.

The instrument might not have been quite so clean and shiny as you would have wanted but the effect is lovely, the light and colours are perfect and the details are remarkably crisp.

A fantastic and very original composition, with the decomposition of these reflections in the trumpet, the circular effect given by the instrument itself and twisting forms, create a funny picture.

Despite the dirty trumpet you still managed to get a good shot illustrating the extreme distortion and giving an abstract view of the surroundings. Good sharpness and natural looking color. Tfs!

I think dirty is good, as it allows better to fine the difference between the reflection and the real world. I like the elegant orange house there. I assume the long slim shadow is you?
I have to try this approach sometime as well :)
