The Wailing Wal

The Wailing Wall is the former west wall of the plateau of the second Temple in Jerusalem, which was located at this point. Approximately one third of the wall was demolished by the Romans and about one third is located below the surface.

Hi Achim,

The presence of the peopl has an effect of scale. The point of view is showing the details of the Wailing wall. The good luminosity isbringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

On ne voit pas tr鑣 souvent des images de cette ville dans ces pages. C'est int閞essant ce mur des lamentations. J'ignorais qu'on pouvait photographier � cet endroit. Les humains donnent une belle relation dimensionnelle.

Hello Achim,
Taken on a relatively calm day, not crowded and bright winter day.
Did you see the "Kotel-tunnels"? (Kotel is the Wailing wall in Hebrew), those tunnels show a deep underground built wall's stones from ancient times, the "third" you refer as bellow surface.
A fine photo with good width about the place.

Hello Achim,

This is such an interesting place that most people have heard of but few have seen in reality. This is a fine, expansive view. There are people there for human interest but not enough to block the view. How lucky to catch these figures dressed in red, for extra vibrancy!

With the passengers on the foreground you have given depth to the picture.

everytime I see this Wall, I learn something new about it. I guess its because I don't get to see many scenes of it living here in Canada.

I notice alot of people are wearing jackets, is it cold here in January?

Hi Achim,

The women in the center in bright red and yellow jackets contrast well against the blue sky. Good sharpness & I like the angled L shaped pov on the imposing stone walls. The bg tower with its domed cupola adds a nice focal point. Tfs!
