Towards Croix Rousse, a photo from Rhone Alpes, South

Photographer's Note

Croix Rousse is the old silk weavers area of Lyon and a good area to wander through old squares and past old buildings. The area stretches up the hill to a flatter area at the top.
These days you will find lots of gourmet patisseries, wine bars, and art galleries as well as a local market.
The metro provides an easy way to get to the top. For coming back down there are stairs with good views and a few good coffee shops.

Bonjour, cher Ian,
C'est vrai que Lyon poss鑔e un charme particulier � travers son architecture, sa fa鏾n de vivre, de sa bonne ch鑢e, de ses bons vins, la liste est longue.
Heureusement, la ville est d閟engorg閑 du passage des estivants depuis la cr閍tion d'un p閞iph閞ique (descendre dans le midi en passant par Lyon devenait une corv閑, parfois, il m'a fallu pas moins de deux heures pour traverser la ville).

Hi Ian,

I only made 3 stops in France, Nice, Nimes, and Paris. So it's nice to see other parts of the country I missed. Good color, sharpness & saturation with superb reflections and good alternating colours in the facades of the buildings. Tfs!

It's a quite well known view, but the quality of this photo is outstanding. Light, colours, contrasts and sharpness are all amazingly good.

The long iron bridge is a breakpoint for the much nice frontage in background.
An excellent depth and perspective.

man, the city of Lyon is certainly on my list of places to visit, it seems almost impossible to take an ugly photo here.
love the many different colours and the many windows, there must be over 100 here. awesome light and contrast levels to make it pop. sweeeeeet cheers
