Photographer's Note
Palmyra, the ancient Roman city, and what is left of it, is a 200 km drive from Damaskus. It is a straight road through a not very interesting desert. Halfway, is the only place to stop for refreshments. It is called Bagdad Cafe´. The place is extraordinary. Lots of surprises, and the view...
I was there long before the sad but needed civil war that is now going on.

Buena composición. Me gustan los paisajes desérticos, como este. Puedo verlos en gran parte del norte de mi país.

A very interesting shot, with many different points of visual interest. Nicely colored and well-composed. I hope the war ends soon, and that the people benefit from the result.

Hello Goran ,
Despite of the wagon in poor condition , it looks like a very sophisticated scenery . I like a lot the composition , with soft pastel colors, and a beautiful sky .

Beautiful shot from a now war-torn land, Goran. I don't know I could ever call a war as brutal as this one has been 'needed', but I'll settle for 'long-coming'. Hopefully it will result in the change Syria needs. In the meantime, we can at least be left with the stark beauty of shots like this one. Thanks!

Hello,
now this is not only very well spotted scene but also beautifully composed with all its elements set up into working wholeness.
Very good light management and pretty colors. The blue sign adds non only some extra color but also livens up the picture and create some pretty contrast.
Thanks for sharing

Goran,
One can say that picture of place is 'good' when it brings out the character of the place. Like we believe so in human Portraits. This shot of yours clearly depicts Neglect, sheer 'Care-a-Damn' attitude and a lot of Deprivation. Everything has got a spirit of being temporary and an inherent Barenness. Very well shot, great composition with the clouds on the sky. Hopefully they had a silver lining for which people one came out on streets.
Best regards,
Satyakki

Ciao Goran
Ciao e buona serata
Romano

hello
first of all, thanx for this image that reminds us that Syria is a country on earth... the mood of this pic is fantastic, due to the colors tones, it is well balanced and framed, the daylight is soft, and the "Bagdad cafe" sign add dream and reference...
