Photographer's Note
This is a vieuw of the Aqueduct of Pegoes. It was built for supplying water to the Convent of Christ,at Tomar. It is 6 km long with 180 arcs, sometimes formed by two chunks of overlapping lines like on this valey.
It congregates the water of four springs, having solved the problem of supplying the Convent which had been done til then, with watering holes.
The work begun in 1593, when all the foutains and pine forests were bought, in the kingdom of D. Filipe I, under the command of Filipe Terzi. It was finished in 1614 by Pedro Fernandes de Torres.
It reached the washbasins of the dormitories at the Convent in 1617 and the Cloister of D. Joao III in 1619.
The Athmosfere at this valey was so peacful that we returnd more times to enjoy it.

Hello Kik,
Splendid view from above on the aquaduct so we can better imagine how the water was transported.
The composition is very good with the curve in the construction and we see also the beautiful arches and not only the top of the aquaduct.
Nice colour contrasts between the grey stones and the green of the trees & the blue sky.
A while ago I also posted a view of a aquaduct from above. That one was in Larnaca, Cyprus but the view was with the city on the background and without green surroundings.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Kik,
The water shortage was a major issue also in ancient times - and the Romans knew how to handle and transfer by a simple architecture: The aquaduct. It is found wherever the Romans ruled.
A majestic view and POV over, with the nice green surroundings.
Have a nice week ahead,
Ike

Ciao Kik Ko
it's an excellent frame of this structure to which the years of the past have not carried the damages. I like focus and the choice of the light that works well in order to emphasize all the perspective.
compliments for your work!
have a good day

Good morning kik,
spectacular the view as the perspective of this almost 400 yeas old aqueduct that is in perfect condition until in our days. The six km distance with all these earthy arrangements, make this technical project very important and in our days.
Have a nice week,Danos

Hallo Kik,
Prachtig uitzicht van deze grote aquaduct.
Ik vind het oogpunt van de curve en de grote diepte.
De omgeving is mooi en geeft tegenstelling tot het beeld.
Met vriendelijke groet,
Charo

Hi Kik
An interesting (and once useful!)structure from good POV giving lots of depth and perspective. Sunny weather and correct exposure makes intense natural colours. Good sharpness too.

Good evening Kik,
This work of art is as impressive as those of the same type carried out by the Romans. I appreciate the very skilful framing which describes effectively and elegantly the aqueduct and the landscape. Excel work of quality.
Have a good evening
