Port of Ramsgate

A photo taken during a stroll in the port of the English town of Ramsgate on a sunny and quiet April morning back in 2009.

Ramsgate, located in the district of Thanet in Kent on one of the most easterly points of the UK, is described as one of the great English seaside resorts in the 19th century. It has 40,000 inhabitants and one of the largest marinas on the south coast.

Ach ja, Ramsgate. Ik vond het toch wel een heel leuk stadje. Deze mooie foto gaat het zeker ook heel goed doen. Er zijn veel boot-liefhebbers onder de TE-ers en het is goed als ze zien dat die niet alleen in de Griekse wateren liggen.

Good morning Lars,
We have a saying in Hebrew "From the many trees - we do not see the forest..."
From the many masts - almost obsecure the town houses and hill beyond, but a beautiful combined photo.
The brown built road on the far side, contrast beautifully with the white houses, and the picture space "filled" effectivly and has good sharpness and DOF. Sure a nice place for photography.

Hello Lars,
The banner saying "Sea searcher" indirectly makes this a rather funny photo. Whoever buys that boat for sale will have to do a lot of searching to find a way to the sea through this jungle of small boats. Apart from that it is an incredibly sharp and clear photo with a fine view towards the town.

There sure is a lot to see in this fine shot, the boats full the foreground beautifully and that blue sky is a rare treat. Lovely summer scene, it makes me want an icecream. I can almost hear the seagulls

Hello Lars,
There do not seem any spare moorings in this well packed marina. Excellent composition; our eyes are inexorably drawn to the town in the background by the succeeding rows of yachts. The weather looked kindly on you on that day making for a pleasing ambient light. Superb colours and clarity and lots to see.

Aan scherpte en kwaliteit ontbreek het helemaal niet.

Funny thing is: why put up a sign saying "sea searcher" when you've obviously just found it...

Hello Lars, Pleasure boat trip for 3 pounds, quite a good offer. Probably this boat is more expensive :0. This harbour is so packed with the boats. Why the boats are not on the sea? Amazing view . Lovely clouds, like from the English painting. There is a bit of high cliff visible also here.

very attractive composition with well used marina as a foreground, we see quite a crowd of the boats here, they seem to stretch to the harbour. Lovely beach town appears just behinds. You have a nice weather with very pleasant clouds adding a decorative element.

We have a Ramsgate suburb here in Sydney. It is nowhere near as glamourous as this place. I love the prolific amount of boats, the beautiful reflections and deep blue tones. What a beautiful place, thanks for sharing it with us.

Spectacular image, with many details that set, many ships in this port, the population at the bottom looks modern, beautiful sky is a great complement to this set.

Magnificent view of the harbor with plenty of yachts of different styles and designs, nice colours and ocean of details, white and brown houses in the BG nicely contradicts with the white and blue yachts and sky. Wonderful water reflections adds to the overall quality of the photograph.

Lars, that marina can receive hundreds of boats. Mainly pleasure boats like sailing boats are moored in that place. Their hulls are reflected on the calm water. The ad is well included on the left, the higher buildings of the town can be seen in the background. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.
