Roccatamburo
The village of Poggiodomo, a village of agrarian communion, rises on a spur that quickly collapses on three sides compacted around the parish church. Throughout the year there are about 15 people living there.
In the 13th century, during the municipal expansion of Cascia, the houses within the walls were abandoned. A new castle was built on the slope in front of the Tissino, called Roccha Tamboris (to continue the ancient curtis longobarda of Castaldato Pontano). Outpost of the Casciano territory and Ghibellina stronghold at the extreme boundaries with the territory of the Spoleto Guelph, Roccatamburo was prey to the spars in 1528, then returned under the rule of Cascia. Bishop Lascaris in 1712 describes it as surrounded by walls and towers, very populated, with three churches in its territory.
The urban typology is that of the slope castle, built on the domain of the Tissino Valley, perfectly aligned with the centers of Usigni, Poggiodomo and Rocchetta along the itinerary, coming from Sabina and Monteleone di Spoleto, reached the road node of Ceret of Spoleto. The access road from the mountain leads down a slight downhill towards the center of the park, compact around the Church of St. Nicholas. Today an ogival door, high about m. 5, which was to be an entrance to the castle, is tamponata and almost halved by a new construction. In a more retracted position than the central core, the building fabric shrinks. Two steep slopes descend to the bottom valley, reaching the Hermitage of Our Lady of the Star. Two monastic cells stood at the time of the Longobards in the Tissino Valley (between Monte Maggio and Monte Conscerno da Usigni), one in Val di Noce, the other where the church of Santa Maria Annunziata rises.

la panchina sembra posizionata in un punto strategico, c'� ombra, sicuramente un bel venticello e una vista favolosa.

Great use of the variable light condition, from under the shaded corridor, out to the high place with a lookout veranda under daylight.
Included the chimney and lamp wonderfully against the sky.

Hello Silvio,
You used the arch very well as a frame within the frame. The view of the houses, steps, lamps and bench is very well composed and the bright and fierce sunlight was well handled adding some strong shadows the the foreground.

There are no figures in view but that doesn't matter as there is a welcoming seat that we can use to enjoy the view.
It's a great composition, with a framing arch and good guide lines from f/g to b/g. The features are all very well positioned in your photograph and I love the light contrasts.

Here you present us a very beautiful view of a small alley in a wonderful attractive composition.
I like the shadows of the slats of the bench on the pavement, the position of the lantern on the misty background and the strong contrast between sun lit parts and those in the shade.
I find that the name of this village sounds very nice.
