Photographer's Note

A view of the Cretaccio island taken from the heights of the island of St. Nicholas, the most rich in architectural and historical curiosities of this small archipelago. What a great place but it seems to have been forgotten by tourists, and it's a real shame, the sea is gorgeous and there are also interesting things to see ... but as usual in Italy we do not know sell well the beauties we have. ... you think that on the 900-seat ferry that brought us here from Termoli, we were in 20 ....

L'ARCIPELAGO DIMENTICATO

Una vista sulla isola Cretaccio scattata dalle alture dell'isola di San Nicola,la piu' ricca di curiosita' architettoniche e storiche di questo piccolo arcipelago. Un posto magnifico ma che sembra sia stato dimenticato dai turisti,ed � un vero peccato,il mare � stupendo e ci sono anche cose molto interessanti da vedere...ma come al solito in Italia non sappiamo vendere bene le bellezze di cui disponiamo....pensate che sul traghetto da 900 posti che ci ha portato qui da Termoli,eravamo in 20....

Ciao Luciano, it is YOU who do not know what the beauties you have. I know it, haha. But I do not know yet this part of Italy, still I have to go to the south. Beautirful landscape and quite wild. Gorgeous indeed, but probably not for swimming and enjoying the sandy beach.

Mai sentito nominare questo arcipelago. Ma e proprio splendido. Adesso l'ho trovato sul google maps. Molto interessante devo dire. La foto "spiega bene" come e la natura li. Una bella scatta coi colori ottimi ed un crop un po particulare.

Those who own shops, hotels and restaurants may be disappointed that tourists forget this place, otherwise you should be happy to find such natural beauty without the usual crowds everywhere. It's a wonderful view of the rocks rising steeply from the sea. The colours and light are perfectly handled.

non e' bello essere dimenticati ma mi piace il titolo misterioso e la parte isolata e deserta che hai scelto di proporci. Una bellezza selvaggia che merita davvero il nostro interesse. La vista, la luce ed i colori sono stupendi, chi visita questo posto sicuramente si sentira' liberato di pensieri negativi e pieno di energia. Pero' si sentira' troppo soli sul traghetto...La tua foto e' molto invitante. Complimenti e grazie!

This is certainly a very nice area for hiking. Spectacular on top of these cliffs.
You will probably also discover some small hidden beaches.

yes, i've never heard of this place before.
looks like there could be some good beaches, i know you like the beach life :)

love that steep cliff with the trees on top, thats the highlight for me.

but I also wonder what is there to do here?
I guess we can enjoy the beauty of the landscape and the ocean, whats wrong with that right?

Thank you for sharing this hidden gem with us. It is indeed quite surprising to hear the this place is not very popular among tourists.
Spectacular landscape, great rock formations. You had a good light there: side lit cliffs seem three dimensional, standing out of the picture.

This your photo reminds me my Corfu photo series. Perhaps these islands have the same volcanic origin.
Perhaps this place is not so comfotable for a life and touristic activity as well.

ciao luciano per me che amo le foto alle scogliere riprese dall'alto questa � una foto paesaggistica molto semplice ma molto bella che descrive molto bene questa parte di costa del gargano...avvolte molti fanno foto molto elaborate con tramonti pazzeschi...lunghe esposizioni dove pero si apprezza ben poco la natura del luogo che invece � quello che mi colpisce di pi�...sempre bravissimo carissimo amico mio..intanto ti auguro un bel natale....
