Photographer's Note
Yesterday, Carlo (carlo62) very kindly commented upon one of my photographs I took in Italy over four years ago. So this one, taken during the same trip, is for Carlo.
One reason for our wonderful trip to Italy in late July, 2011 was to attend a family wedding at Borgo di Tragliata about 50 kilometres northwest of Rome - a splendid setting for a wedding and also a perfect place to relax and enjoy some fine Italian countryside and cuisine. This shot was taken while wandering around the grounds of this beautiful place on a bright and warm summer morning.

Hello John,
You had a beautiful morning to capture this one; the light is quite divine. I like the point of view and the use of the planters as a lead-line to draw the viewer into the scene. Sumptuous colours and excellent clarity and some lovely textural detail.

Hello John,
This looks like a nice place but maybe nothing really out of the ordinary. What makes this photo so enjoyable are the splendid colours and light and the careful composition featuring cleverly used trees and the lovely yellow plants in the four large pots. The vivid colours, brightness and sharpness certainly make this something out of the ordinary.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello John,
Great minds think alike for I have, co-incidentally, posted a photograph from Italy and it was to attend a family wedding!
The weather was obviously beautiful and the sunshine has livened the colours all around.
You have chosen a fine aspect, the line of pots being attractive in their own right but also, giving a good lead, and creating a fine sense of perspective.
The conifer trees frame the scene well and there is a good sense of depth from the f/g tables to the house, curiously peeping over the plants!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi John
what a beautiful place! So picturesque. I like the charming house and most of all you have framed it with attractive vegetation. Great light and colors. So well saturated and eye catching.
It must have been a great wedding!

Hi John
too bad your previous dog photo wasn't better received points wise, I really enjoyed that photo you took :) It deserved many more than 8 pts!
as for this photo here, it reminds us that SUMMER is around the corner, not quite yet, but its coming at some point.
I liked your comment in the note "bright and warm summer morning" - thats what i'm waiting for indeed.
I don't have a green thumb, and I don't know species of plants/trees, but those 4 brightly coloured ones on the ground act as focal points. My eyes are drawn to them right away.
second would have to be the charming old home and its window shutters and rustic rooftop. nicely composed as its suits the eye very well.
PS
Back from our mini trip to Vegas and 2 National Parks in Utah, hoping to post a photo today or tomorrow
cheers

Hello John
Long time no hear, but live is keeping me busy and with not getting any notification mails from TE anymore the site has simply slowly slipped from my mind.
Wonderful sunny summer scene, just what we need at a grey and rainy February Sunday. The old house, the lush vegetation and the blue sky makes this scene very charming, romantic even.
have a good weekend

Hello John,
I guess Italy is my favourite place in the world and a place that I could live in. This photo shows the beauty of an old building nestled in a sunny yard. The line of potted foliage makes this a very strong image.
Kind Regards, Ann

A perfect sample for good pov and compo.
Nice the tree at left upper corner which creates a nice natural framing of the scene.

Hello John,
the colours, the vegetation, the architecture and the sunshine are so characteristic and pleasing. Everything's lovely in this scene and the relaxing mood, where time doesn't seem to matter and there's no pressure of any kind, makes it so inviting. I like how you used all the surrounding elements, to enhance perspective and depth, frame the house and add attractive colours. There's peace and harmony in the sunshine, too:) Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania

Caro Giovanni
Ahh you're making me miss Italy too much today. What a beautiful, sunny shot. A far cry from your cold misty Lanark shots at the moment. A minimalistic, simple, yet evocative photo. Thanks for sharing.
Un abbraccio
