History:
This small farm is located in Donk part of Maldegem, but this small farm will eventually disappear, like so many in our region, usually in the hands of people with money who like to live outside.
When we look for the identity and history of a region, we unmistakably end up at the farm building.
The view of a farm is therefore inextricably linked to the environment. The farmer mostly built his farm with materials from the region. The fertility of the soil not only determined the chosen crops and agricultural yields, but also the form and
size of the farm buildings.
Farms are usually small in poor, sandy regions; in
fertile areas are the large farms.
Also, in public opinion there is the view that farms largely determine a regional identity.
Many consider the preservation and history of the farm to be important.
I hope you like it

Hallo John,
Een prachtig gezicht op de verschillende gebouwen van de boerderij rond om het grasveld en onder de strakblauwe lucht. Uitstekende compositie ook.

Hello John,
From what I can see from this distance this farm looks neat and well taken care of. If the present owner decides to give up farming and sell it, I am sure someone with a lot of money and hopefully good taste will be able to convert this into something very good and elegant. With the trees and lawns in the foreground you managed a very nice composition, and on this bright day the colours turned out beautifully.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi John,
The space in front of the buildings is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the farm buildings. The light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hallo John,
The red brick fa鏰de and red tiled roofs of the buildings contrast well with the blue sky to give a superb warm cold colour contrast. The diagonal road at right angles adds linear perspective. Tfs!

Hi dear John, how are you?
Very stable and perfect format, isn't it?
You also seem to buy new camera, that works good job.
The branches above play important role in this composition.
All the best and have a good day! Takero from Tokyo

Hello John,
I hope your forecast is wrong and that this small farm survives! Farms are so important to areas not only because so much history is wrapped up in the the building and the land but, it is because of the farm that the land is how it is! Without a farmer and his animals (or crops) constantly using the land, it would take a whole different appearance!
The long, low buildings seem, to me, typical of Belgium and fit so snuggly into the scene.
AS always, you use the pathway very effectively as a guide; the light is lovely and the details sharply captured.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello John, an interesting note to accompany this picture of a neat and tidy looking farm.
We can see blossom on the trees.
Lovely natural colours.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi John.
Too bad that current times lead to the disappearance of these small farms, which give identity to an area or town, a pleasant atmosphere here with these buildings and the green meadow dotted with trees, which I think are fruit trees.
Great color that brings out the details in the image.
Very well managed both the brightness and the sharpness of the image.
Nice work. That we enjoy.
Have a nice day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello John,
It is sad to read that such traditional structures will disappear. Let's hope someone buys these and renovates them.

Hi John
A charming rural scene not a bad place to pass on your daily walks. Looks like you had some really subtle light coming in from the right with good detail, shadows and rich colours.
Super sharp capture, interesting narrative and great point of view too.
Best regards
