History - Porto Offley

A brand with a prestigious heritage in the making of great ports, OFFLEY today adjusts yesterday抯 experience to tomorrow抯 challenges. OFFLEY makes ports of all three main categories: white, ruby and tawny.
OFFLEY扴 history goes back to 1737, the year in which the Englishman William Offley founded the company to which he gave his own name. It is however from the 19th century onwards that the company acquired a new dynamism. In 1831, Joseph James Forrester, a nephew of the founder, joined the company. An academic and an artist, James Forrester was the first person to map the River Douro and its region, as well as to draw maps that became works of reference. He also undertook numerous wine-growing studies and left important graphical works � paintings, drawings and sketches � in which he shows all his passion for the Douro.
James Forrester抯 contribution to the development of the region where Port Wine is made, as well as to its trade, earned him the title of Baron given to him by the King of Portugal.
Throughout the years the company invested in the production and marketing of fortified wines, in the planting of new vineyards or in the re-planting of existing ones (as happened at Quinta da Boavista), built and maintained unique ageing cellars at Vila Nova de Gaia, and expanded the world-wide distribution of the OFFLEY brand.
In 1997 OFFLEY was purchased by Sogrape, a wine-producing family company of international dimension, with quality wines and a strong focus on volume brands so as to meet market demands.

what an incredible nice mood that you captured in looong 15 seconds. I actually like the softness of the image and I believe that the very smae image with tack sharp presentation would have lost some of this mood. Lovely little detail of the brazilian flag in the middle of the image. By the way, how was your trip to Brazil. I didn't see any post ... ?

Bom dia Gon鏰lo, excelente composi玢o frontal com o Porto como pano de fundo. Muito bonita esta atmosfera nocturna e bem conseguida composi玢o de barcos de diferentes tamanhos e feitios no 1� plano. Gosto do detalhe do barco branco mais simples e pequeno, mas mais brilhante tamb閙.

Hello Goncalo..light condition like these require a good amount of patience and experimentation to get satisfying results !

Youve done well here brother..wonder why you chose 5.6..you had the tripod..could shoot it up to 10..and try at diff speeds...

Anyway a mood shot more than anything else..

uau!!!! Linda fotografia Gon鏰lo, ficou soberba, bastante n韙ida e com umas belas cores. Os 15 segundos ficarm muito bem e os barcos n韙idos, n鉶 deveria estar muito vento e as 醙uas deviam estar calmas.
