Photographer's Note
The Corinthian style columns of the Temple of Artemis in Jerash, originally a Greek city state but taken over by the Romans in the 1st century AD. It was known as Gerasa. Jerash recovered from the Persian invasion of 614 AD, but a big earthquake in 749 AD destroyed large parts of the city and buried much of it in landslides. It declined rapidly in importance after that and was not rediscovered until 1806. More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerash

Hello Chris,
Wow, the warm sunlight is beautiful on the ancient columns and reveals the textures beautifully too. The very blue sky provides a fantastic background and the sharpness is absolutely stunning.

Hi Chris,
this is a spectacular photography.
Fantastic composition from below combined with great depth of the field which made each fragment of the columns crispy sharp. Of course you have also captured it in amazing light turning the ruins gold and set against the great sky. The resulting geometry is beautiful.
Excellent work!!!

Great POV upwards to the pillars, Chris.
The side light was perfectly employed here.
I never remember the difference between Corinthian's or the other styled columns - but we have TE for that...
Best regards,
Ike

Hi Chris
Love the shooting point of a very strong image showing the huge converging verticals of the ancient columns. Nicely exposed and with what seems very natural fresh warm colours, strong on detail holding the eye firmly together and lovely contrasting sky to finish of. An appealing architectural shot, well observed and worth the crick in your neck - Lol, Congrats
Best regards

Hello Chris
This is how you have to take a picture of these Corinthian columns. Pointing to the Gods who are hidden in the deep blue sky. Some shadows on the columns make the scene even more vivid.
Excellent and attractive presentation.

Ciao Chris
A simple, minimalist composition, highly effective and very attractive. I love the perspective and play of light and shade. The strongest element here is the contrast of gold and cobalt colours, always a winner, as it is here. Well done, nice work.
Happy weekend, are you okay...the troubles in Turkey worry me greatly but I thought you were travelling abroad
