Photographer's Note
After the flu that made me stay away from the computer and TE these last days, here it is another pov of the ksar of Medenine, which was already the subject of one of my earlier posts.
The following lines are a transcription of the notes of that post.
This is the ksar of Medenine, a relatively important town in South Tunisia. Although now, like many others, it is largely a tourist atraction and shopping mall to tourists, in Tunisia, normally ksar refers to fortified granaries (no, they weren't usually used as homes) that were used by nomad or semi-nomad people that spent part of the year camped near them. They were fortified to be more easily protected from robbery. Some of them are located on the open country, far from any village or fixed settlement, others, like this one, are located inside villages and towns.
If it reminds you Star Wars, that isn't a surprise, as George Lucas and his team inspired themselves on these constructions to design the scenarios of Mos Espa, the planet where young Anakin Skywalker lived. Actually, many scenes of the movie saga were filmed in Tunisia.

Olá José,
You must be one of lucky photographer at front of this beauty. Adobes and its splendid colors are spectacular with their crowded and magnificent architecture. Your excellent view located the minaret cleverly in your scene. Amazing! Congratulations.
Friendly Regards,

I love the almost arch like symmetry you have created in the image with the position of the spire ..
and again this place .. the bricked in door .. the chaotic stairs .. and those arrows ..
it evokes all these random chaotic thoughts .. perhaps much like the random chaotic place that it seems to be.
take care,
John

Hola Jose!
Besos!

Hi Jose, I see that even the flu wasn't able to keep for very long time away from TE. You got a lot of new posts during my 2 weeks of absence. Good overall work.
Anyway let me start with the critique here. I have the feeling that I prefer your first Medenine post. The sharpness is definitively better on this here but the composition with the minarete right in the middle doesn't help a lot. Just placing the minaret a little bit to the side would have helped. I hope you understnad what I mean. Probably a human element here would have turned it more interesting, but without the square and only the empty staircases it looks, well, empty.

Hi Jose
Interesting comp. A bit to cut in half for me but the mosque really stands stong and makes the shot. The arrows are very interesting. Well done.
