Farmgate at Night, a photo from Dhaka, North

Photographer's Note

Farmgate is one of the busiest areas of the "new" part of Dhaka. It's a junction of several roads, there's a bus station and it's a busy shopping area.

This picture was taken at about 1830 when everyone is rushing to get somewhere. The final hint of daylight lingers in the sky.

The picture was taken from a pedestrian bridge over the junction. No tripod was used but I balanced the camera on the railing.

By the way, this is my 300th pic on TE. Sorry that my postings have become less frequent over the last few months - there are too many other things in life at the moment. But I'm still just as passionate about photography and I still visit the site regularly. I'll keep uploading the pics as often as I can.

Wow, traffic looks horrible with the slow shutter ;) A beautiful early-evening photo, not only working fine to illustrate the busy happenings on the roads but also a good amount of urban detail in the back. What a spectacular picture, excellent and very dynamic night shot, the red lines of the car lights are very spectacular but splendid for looking, Dhanka by night but very well seen!

Great shot considering it was taken without a tripod. I like the contrast between the bright lights of the city and the the calm blue of the twilight sky. Great work!

Magnificent night shot, with such a wonderful rush atmosphere. The lighting is splendid as well as the blue sky. The POV and composition are perfect, showing us a nice perspective with lots of interesting details, all the way to the background. I specialy like the blurred trucks at left foreground. Excellent work!

Very intriguing and appealing picture with the movement of many cars in contrast with some cars probably standing in a traffic jam. But also red lines of some racing cars. And that all with that marvellous lights. Great job.

Great shot. It really captures the rush of Farmgate in the evening that is so familiar to me. And good POV. I have seen lots of photographs of Shahbag crossing and Science Laboratory crossing but not of Farmgate. Thanks for sharing.
