Photographer's Note
A lonely beach on the Bay of Bengal in the southern part of the Sundarbans National Park. This area is famous for its tigers. We had an armed guide with us in case we ran into any of the creatures but there was little chance of that. Even the researchers in the park who study the animals and leave cows as bait rarely see them. So, sorry I couldn't bring you a photo of a big stripy cat but I still liked the contrast of our guide in his golden outfit against the dark grey sky.

Bonsoir Jonathan
tu es s鹯 qu'il n'est pas derri鑢e toi le gros tigre ? en tout cas bien vu cette photo du guide avec son habit qui contraste bien avec la plage. J'aime bien le cadrage et la lumi鑢e.

It's an interesting photo, Jonathan - a good "learning about the world" example where without the note you would have the audience puzzled about the mission of the armed guy in the golden overall at the beach. Nice simple compo where the guy is well placed versus the bending shoreline.

Hi Jonathan, With an armed guard to accompany with you for a leisure trip, I bet you would feel important and safe. A strong contrast of the bright yellow uniform with the riffle to the beautiful scenery.

Hi Jonathan,
Your story, and this photo, made me smile and I like the very awkward presence of the armed guard on the desert beach. Your compo is perfect and the gray clouds add a dramatic feeling to the scene.
Have a nice day.

No tigers eh?
Well, at least you got a chance to go to this park; I never visited this place. A nice shot here and good composition. The light seems strong but the whole scene still works. For big, stripy cats; looks like you'll have to visit a zoo instead.
Cheers and good work.

Excellent framing and depth. We can feel the immensity the guy is taking care of ! Good colors despite a white hard light.

Great story and perfectly illustrated by the photo showing the tiger coloured guide looking out at the jungle in vain. Great sense of framing too, with the man positioned in the corner and the huge sky dominating. Well done!

Hej Jonathan,
Also without a tiger, this is a very nice picture. :-) The POV and composition are very good and the person is placed well in the photo. I like the inclusion of the big part of the sky too. Well done!
