Photographer's Note

A man crouches in his boat and washes his face in the Buriganga River. So much of life in Dhaka and the rest of the country is based around the rivers. They provide water for drinking, cooking, transport and irrigation.

Bangladesh is located on a huge river delta and probably has more waterways for its size than any other country in the world.

Good catch of this daily life scene. I was quite impressed by the amount of daily life and industry that occurs on this river. The collection of boats is awesome in some places. I like the way you have framed the shot too, in a purely candid way. Good work.

Very good daily life shot. I like the way you've posiitonned this guy with the boat making a good diagonal lead into the image and the people qe can make out un the back. Excellent sharpness with the splash of water around the man's face.

Hi Jonathan,
Another great shot of the daily life in Bangladesh. Spectacular cacth of this guy washing his face on the river, in the right moment, and with all the scene in the background (with so many nice details to observe) a bit blurred and in softer tones. I love the composition, the low POV, the light and reflections in foreground and the natural colours. It's an excellent picture. Congratulations!

Brilliant shot Jonathan! The timing is perfect, catching the man just as the water is splashing on his face. The angle of the boat is a nice compositional element, drawing the eye right to the man. Great light too, and the background places this in context. Great work!
