Photographer's Note
Cambodia is the land of children. They are everywhere, playing, going to school, in the temples, working, or begging. Over 50% of the country's population is children under 18 years. And nearly half of them have to work to support their families. Their future prospects are uncertain.
To be a child in this country is hard work.
Batalay's notes on taking portraits (in his NATURAL BLOND' pic) highlighted the ‘CENTRELINE’ principle and PRINCIPLE OF THE LEFT CHEEK VS THE RIGHT CHEEK; I find that it works here too?

Hello May,
This is a beautiful portrait. The look in her eyes conveys some of the seriousness and sadness to which you alluded in your note.
I like the tight framing and your work with the shallow DOF, the girl's face is perfectly sharp and you achieved a nice bokeh.
I did a bit of a WS, hope you don't mind.
Cheers,
Dasha

Delicate, childish face. Beautiful girl with naive wonder in her big eyes. I like your picture a lot though contrast you used seems too low for me.

Hello May,
A very beautiful portrait indeed. I agree with the centreline principle but I think it should be combined with decentralising of the head (especially in horizontal images). Here the girl is looking to the left of the image, so place her right eye spot on the centre line. This will move the head out of the centre and give more space there where she is looking at. I made a WS just to show you what I mean, please tell me what you think about.
Regards,
Guy
