Photographer's Note

I apologize for using that old tongue twister for the title, but it was hard to avoid it, and you don't have to read it aloud quickly five times.

This is a very simple photo, just a snapshot from a market place in the Cambodian city of Battambang. A sweet vegetarian alternative can be seen in the workshop. If the main photo is nothing special at all, the WS photo is a little bit special.

These photos from 2007 were taken with a Canon Ixus 750.

Hi Gert, again an interesting daily life picture, markets always offer lots of colors and details. I am not sure if there was too hot or too many flies, but I believe, the flies on the seashells would not have bothered her too much... Nice picture

marvelous image with nice quality and details. the woman looks natural and the products well seen. I liked a lot of the WS, the two smiles were marvelous, the lying down girl looked as a sculpture of angkor wat.

Hello Gert,
I would have been disappointed if you hadn't used this tongue twister actually. :-) A great photo, I love the pattern of all the seashells in black and white in the foreground, which make a great contrast with the extremely colourful pattern of the lady's dress, would she be wearing that on purpose? Very well captured!

Hello Gert,
She seems determined to be noticed this seafood seller in her brightly coloured floral patterned dress. She certainly stands out in your composition. She seems very interested in something left of frame; I like the look of shear determination on here face. All in all, an interesting and well realised daily life composition.

Great portrait of the lady, well-framed to include her merchandise in the foreground. Her colourful dress stands out, good timing to show the colours and patterns of her fan too.
Nice duo of images from the market but the WS photo could also be a main upload in its own right.

Hi Gert

Do they have Swedish tongue twisters as well? They do in Korea but in Korean of course. Perfect sharpness and these cockles are used in seafood dishes and garnishing. I hope she sells them quickly because the heat and humidity and lack of refrigeration will spoil them quickly. Same applies to the meat at top right. Tfs!

All these shells create an interesting scene. They look like shells I would collect while visiting my grandparents in Miami Beach as a child. The bright colors of the woman's dress and fan are also very nice. This photo really jumped out of the gallery.

I like this main post very much for you have given us the interest of the open-air market, the central, colourfully-dressed lady and three, huge plates of sea food. Three is always a rocker for composition!
Th fan tells us something about the weather!
I wonder how long sea food survives outside in hot weather!
The lady in red is a definite star in your w/s.
Should I point out that you missed to note sweet potatoes ... well, maybe not!! Oops!

nice the snapshots from the open air market of the town with the two sellers to dominating the scene as are in front of their merchandises.I wonder if all these seashells can eaten from tourists.
I visited the country ten years ago and i take a tour in the Tonle sap lake where a lot of natives were living in it...

Sensational portrait of this clam seller, who looks away from the camera, her colorful dress gives a colorful chromatism, the girl in the photo of the WS has however a charming smile and looks directly at the camera, she is nice surrounded by their pineapples .
The management of color and light, are magnificent, highlighting the beauty and sharpness of the image.

Curious title for the image, but very suitable! Markets are always interesting to take photos, for the lots of colors there use to be, but in this case the colorful clothes of the woman is what stands out here! Very nice daily life scene captured with excellent light and sharpness! Wonderful job!

I like this tongue twister - SHE SELLS SEASHELLS ON THE SEASHORE.THE SHELLS SHE SELLS ARE SURELY SEASHELLS. Easier than Sju sj鰏juka sj鰉鋘 sk鰐tes av sjuttisju ....:). But what. are these shells for? Is there anything inside them? But then difficult to get it.

Hallo Gert Your title is a funny 'voice easy' for teaching elocution lessons to still-quick wits! I consider this valiant lady, hardly working to pick and sell so much shells, thought wisely wearing a colorful dress on which are 'stuck much cuticules of different colors and sizes' to draw attention on her casual sympathetic posture! The lady seller with her flowery suit and her colorful fan in front of her baskets full of sea shells.
As for the WS, yes it's beautiful with this cheerful girl amongst the pineapples and sweet potatoes ! Very sweet indeed.

Gert, the vendor seen at a market in Battabang is using a fan to take the flies away from the shells. The little mollusks are exhibited without ice on the stalls. I see ducks and meat in the bg. Authentic daily life scene showing the smiling lady with vegetables and the pineapple pile around her. Fine colors, good image quality, regards.
