We made a cycling trip of around 70 km to reach the main temples around Siem Reab. Beside Angkor Wat there are many more temples in the same style,
Bantey Samre was one of the highlights.

Awesome size of this temple, we get good scale from the couple walk on the main elevated lot.
Manged well despite the hazey / low light condition.

Hello Gerrit,
I don't remember if this was among the temples I saw. There were so many that I got a bit confused. There are not too many persons seen here, so maybe this was one of the places that didn't attract the huge crowds. Such places were a relief. I like how you included the steps in the foreground so I can imagine climbing them and then continue up to the important parts of the sanctuary.

Hier zijn al een groot aantal mensen gepasseerd wanneer ik de treden van de trap bekijk.
Mooi dat u de foto nam laag zodoende cre雃rt u een mooi architecturaal beeld.
Ongelooflijk wanneer we dit mogen aanschouwen, bijna een ru飊e maar alles mooi scherp en echt kleurrijk

Hello Gerrit, the steps are inviting us to go up and explore the temple. I can imagine all kinds of photo opportunities here.
Just two people in the frame, but sufficient to give us scale and some animation.

Hallo Gerrit,
Een mooie compositie met de trappen vooraan die ons naar het tempelcomplex leiden en verderop nog trappen die op dat ogenblik heel wat bezoekers naar het hoogste gedeelte brachten.
De kleine plantjes die op de voorgrond tussen de stenen groeien, vormen slechts een herinnering aan de overgroeide staat waarin men ooit de tempels terugvond.

Is an appealing complex with the great big central feature that is great for climbing. A good photo looking through ruined sections.

Hello Gerrit,

If I remember rightly, you enjoy cycling!

You have used the steps very effectively in your photograph, where they lead us directly into the temple grounds.
You have gathered good details of the f/g walls and what might be some sort of lichen giving them a very reddish colour.
Beyond, the temple looks huge, rising high above the lower courtyard. The figures, climbing the steps help us to understand the scale. They appear to be heading for the summit, where an open doorway takes on the character of a yawning mouth.

I also went to this temple and enjoyed the relative solitude. Good sharpness and perspective and the people add scale. Tfs!
