Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman, a photo from Hong Kong, South

Photographer's Note

This was taken in a street market in Mongkok during my second of two very busy days of fun and photography with Maciek. I haven't taken so many photos in such a short span in my life. This is from the only roll of print film I shot, so it is the first up. My slides will be ready Thursday. I am not certain why he is wearing the spiderman mask, but one thing I have noticed living in Taiwan, is how it is not unusual to see little kids wearing a Spiderman costume. I saw one here in Taipei today as well. I guess American movies are a huge influence pretty much everywhere. Maybe Maciek can tell me the name of the market, but I can't sorry.

Like the expression here a lot Darren. Like the DOF too. And the composition is very good. You are relayively closer to your subject in this shot. Or it is just the zoom? I posted questions about lenses in my comment to Maciek's picture today. I need to buy a new one so I am seeking advises from well-meaning "friends" like you. Thanks.

Great subject, light, DOF and composition.
I also like how the colors work well with the mask. And those little pics (stickers?) are a great detail.
Excellent shot, darren � one of my very-favorites.

Dear Darren, a great look that he is giving you. The red of the mask is nicely repeated in his shirt. Perfect DOF for a portrait, it always enhances the main object. Great framing, well done :) Yours, Jan

nice shot Darren, you wre more lucky than me with this boy, i have maybe 5 shots with this kid, but he is not looking at me at none of them. he gave you a great look - what is this guy with his huge lens doing there? nice shot, colorful and very well composed.

very powerful shot darren! He does look at you with a sense of " don't mess with me man! I am spiderman aferall, you get it?" . He could also be at the edge of bursting out in laughters.. great composition and DOF ! colors are very soft. well done!
I find it great that you met with maciek in HK. TE is a good way to meet people sharing the same passion for photography ;-)

Very nice picture Darren.. I see you did meet maciek, Nice.. I 'll meet Eleparc on thursday in Paris.. And cool krishna in Delhi in may.. TE is a wondeful meeting ground.
