Photographer's Note

This is another older gentleman, of which there were many, who was hanging out in the Aberdeen area. This is a great area for people watching, as there are many guys (some women) hanging out, talking loud, smoking, playing cards and playing chess. Chess was his game. Wouldn't surprise me at all to find out that Maciek and/or Kourosh also have a shot of this guy. I just wish he would do a better job of cleaning his glasses, the dirtyness makes my shot look a little out of focus.

Cool shot, Darren, because it's simple and thus effective in every way. The background grayish colors work nicely with the skin tones and the blue of his jacket. Compo wise I like his pose and your framing of this scene (maybe just more space would be needed by his hand...or maybe not, can't seem to figure this one out).

Anyway, wonderful simple shot. One of your best efforts and by far the best (so far) shot from HK. Well done!

i also think this is your best HK pic so far. well composed, focused and framed. i'd say its a bit oversharpened but i know you like it sharp! great shot.

excellent photo Darren. I like the way you posed his right hand onto the bottom of your crop! the light is optimum for me and every detail of his faces and his freckles shows... Great work! the photo of a pro;-)
