Gorkhey

Photographer's Note

Gorkhey, a beautiful valley in the border of West Bengal and Sikkim. 18 km from Phalut. In the trek route of Sandakphu you have to trek 26 km for Phalut. It is end of himalayan rhododendron sanctuary which starts from Gairibas in this trek route. You can end your trek through Rammam - Srikhola to Rimbik. Another route is there to leave Gorkhey, you can take a small route of 8 km and reach Sikkim's Ribdhi.
Gorkhey is a nice valley. You can find Gorkhey khola (river stream) in this nice valley. You can capture so many photos in this valley. Unfortunately I have all my batteries exhausted in this place, and I have only one photo of this pleasant place. In this shot you can see the green valley with the huts with the backdrop of green trees. I have fallen in love with this valley. Now I am sharing this shot with you. Hope you'll like it.

That really is a treasure of India, so idyllic and peaceful and green. It must not be easy to visit this place, you will have to walk for some time. The accessibility most probably is one of the key reason why this place still has kept its charm. Excellent composition and execution. Well done. Thanks for your critique of my shot from Murni beach in Yan. The clouds fascinated me, so I composed the picture around them.

the presence of the traditional architecture warns us that this is not an Alpine European valley, but we can enjoy his great natural beauty.

Actually it looks like an Alpin Valley and not India at all! (at least the India I have known).
The intense light gave you a strong contrast but anyway the whole image is quite enjoyable, there is a good sense of depth and the whole scenery is first class.
